The Pig Roast
The CBES Pig Roast began in 1989 as a way to
say “thank
you” to all the volunteers who had worked so hard to
establish the CBES organization and to public officials who
were working hard to plan the future of the community. Today
it is a fund-raising event for the organization and hosts hundreds
of people including dozens of families and children. It continues
to feature smoked barbeque, baked beans and all the trimmings,
plus hayrides, music, displays of antique farm equipment, and
swarms of children hoping for a hayride or playing games.
The
Pig Roast takes place on the Saturday of Memorial Day
weekend each year (next is May 24, 2008) at an antique
farm shed near Eastville. Tickets are usually available during
the month of May at the following retail outlets and from the
CBES office and board members:
